Being a Christian - the gift of salvation is exactly that - a free gift from God given to everyone who believes in Jesus - but people often make the mistake of thinking that receiving that free gift - becoming a christian is the finish line. Its not, its the starting line

And once you cross that starting line, the holy spirit gives is spiritual gifts, Jesus gives us a sense of calling and opportunities - a huge pile of them and then it’s down to us to make something of it.

Crossing the starting line into God’s Kingdom is a free gift, but it takes effort and perseverance to run the race all the way to the finish line.

The free gifts of grace provide us with all the tools we need for this race of life - but we have to choose to pick them up and put them to good use
